HOW WE PICK THE GOOD STUFF

We did the homework. You get the good part.

A product needs more than margin and a viral video. It has to improve life, well-being, or happiness; survive the Smile Test; arrive without an odyssey; and leave enough contribution to support the guest after the sale.

THE SMILE TEST

Would opening this package make somebody feel better?

Relief

It solves an annoyance the guest had accepted as normal.

Delight

It is beautiful, funny, sensory, nostalgic, or unusually satisfying.

Meaning

It holds a memory, symbol, ritual, place, or personal story.

Excitement

It creates an honest I-want-that reaction without hiding the catch.

RISK-BASED VERIFICATION

Evidence first. A physical check when the risk earns one.

We do not require a sample of every low-risk item. We do require a complete exact-SKU record. Physical or independent verification becomes mandatory when documentation cannot reliably answer a material, safety, fit, high-value, food-contact, electrical, customization, or conflicting-evidence question.

  • Low risk: documented identity, specifications, rights, fulfillment and recent performance can qualify
  • Higher risk: inspection, assay, certification, production proof or other independent evidence is required
  • Every SKU remains monitored after approval; changed facts can pause it automatically

THE SCORE

A recommendation with math behind it.

These weights guide the first review. Safety, legality, evidence, and financial hard gates can still stop an item with a very pretty score.

Early demand quality20%
Contribution resilience20%
Supplier confidence15%
Evidence confidence10%
Delivery reliability10%
Low return and defect risk10%
Repeat and companion potential10%
Giftability and brand fit5%

THE HARD NO DEPARTMENT

Some problems cannot be fixed with better copy.

  • Credible counterfeit, stolen-design, or resale-rights risk
  • Serious safety evidence, recall, or unsupported regulated claim
  • Missing facts that materially affect fit, use, subscription, or safety
  • No legitimate supplier, unusable delivery, or unstable inventory
  • Contribution below the approved financial floor
  • Return or defect risk that makes the guest experience unsustainable

SUPPLIER CONFIDENCE

Approval is a status, not a vibe.

Approved

Identity, exact-item evidence, fulfillment, packaging, returns, and economics passed the current launch standard; risk-based physical or independent verification is complete where required.

Limited test

Promising enough for a controlled order or low-volume test, with spending, quantity, and exception caps.

Watch

Still usable, but delivery, quality, stock, review, or response signals need closer monitoring.

Quarantined

New orders pause while a material change, complaint pattern, substitution, or evidence conflict is investigated.

Suspended

The supplier or item failed a hard gate and cannot receive new orders without documented reapproval.

PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

The image needs to tell the truth.

AI concepts can help define a merchandising direction. They cannot impersonate the exact object a guest will receive. Every live asset receives a provenance record with its source, rights basis, exact-item status, date, edits, and media type.

  1. Manufacturer photography with confirmed usage rights
  2. Exact-item supplier photography with confirmed usage rights
  3. Authorized distributor imagery of the exact item
  4. Hard Earned Happy sample photography
  5. Properly licensed, accurately contextual lifestyle imagery
  6. Clearly labeled AI lifestyle concepts that never impersonate the shipped item

GOOD / BETTER / BEST

Three honest choices. No fake decoy.

Good

The entry option

The essential benefit at the lowest sustainable cost, with every material difference disclosed.

Best

The premium option

Meaningfully better construction, support, materials, warranty, or experience—not a larger number attached to the same item.

BEFORE YOU BUY THAT

We may find it happier. We may tell you the other deal wins.

A guest can voluntarily submit a product link, screenshot, or description. The live service will compare what is actually the same, what is merely similar, and whether a legitimate lower offer survives shipping, returns, warranty, and the approved price floor.
